Offinso College of Education began admitting her selected applicants on Monday, 19th December 2022.

Selected applicants going through the admission process

The whole process is expected to last for about a month or less.

According to the officers put in charge of the admission process, so far the process has been very calm and smooth, with very minimal pressure on them as compared to that of the 2021–2022 academic year’s admission.

Mr. Kwaako Agyemang, the officer in charge of the first desk for the registration process

Mr. Daniel Aning Kusi, the IT officer responsible for data entry

Applicants that have been given the scarce opportunity of being enlisted or selected due to the competitive nature of the selection could not hide their joy.

WRITING A WINNING GRANT RESEARCH PROPOSAL – THE OFFINSO COLLEGE OF EDUCATION (OFCE) CONTINUES TO BUILD THE CAPACITY OF ITS ACADEMIC STAFF https://www.ofce.edu.gh/writing-a-winning-grant-research-proposal-the-offinso-college-of-education-ofce-continues-to-build-the-capacity-of-its-academic-staff/ https://www.ofce.edu.gh/writing-a-winning-grant-research-proposal-the-offinso-college-of-education-ofce-continues-to-build-the-capacity-of-its-academic-staff/#respond Wed, 28 Dec 2022 10:56:16 +0000 https://www.ofce.edu.gh/?p=1562 Globally, research plays a pivotal role in the effective structural transformation of the socio-economic environment. Offinso College of Education (OFCE), being a tertiary institution, therefore has a role to fulfill in this respect. In achieving this, the college continues to build the capacity of its staff members to maximise their research contribution.

A section of the participants being attentive to the facilitator

As it frequently occurs, the college has once again organised a two-day workshop, 21st- 22nd December 2022 for the academic staff. It was facilitated by Prof. Isaac Boateng, the Dean of Faculty of Business Education (FBE) of the Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED) and a council member of the Offinso College of
Education.

Prof. Isaac Boateng, the facilitator

The objective of the workshop was to give participants an opportunity to practise principles of good written communication as they apply to research proposals and to help them gain insight into how peer review decision-making panels assess and evaluate research proposals.

The College Principal, Very Rev. Joseph Nkyi Asamoah (in white) keenly following the presentation

As part of the programme, members were assigned to groups of two, three, or four, and each group was tasked with writing a proposal with the aim of attracting a grant. To do this, they were to choose a research topic that interested them, give a brief background, a statement of the problem, the aims and objectives of the study, an impact statement, methodology, a work schedule, and an ethics and risk assessment.

Participants working in groups two, three and four

Participants were very much enthused to have had the privilege of participating in such a workshop organised by the college. Like Napoleon, they called for more.

Participant, Mr. Benjamin Kwabena Ochour, expressing his appreciation of the workshop
