The Principal of the College, Very Reverend Joseph Nkyi-Asamoah whose initiative brought the idea or philosophy into reality, in his speech, advised the students to take their studies serious.

He explained that the rationale behind the introduction of the Excellence Awards Ceremony is to primarily motivate all students of the College to work harder so that they could also enjoy the same or similar awards in the coming semesters. This initiative is to motivate all students to work harder so that they could also enjoy the same or similar awards in the coming semesters.

He was also of the firm belief that the Awards initiative would go a long way to raise the corporate image of Offinso College as the College of choice and one the best colleges in the country.

The Dean of Students’ Affairs, Mr Augustine Adjei urged the students to see the Awards Scheme as reinforcement and advised them accordingly to sit up so as to improve upon their performance and also be part of the awardees.

The Academic Affairs Officer of the College, Mr Jonathan Kwame Mensah, on his part, advised the students not to look down on the subjects that they are not interested in but they should rather work harder in those subjects as they could raise their Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA).

On his part, a tutor and former Head of Education Department, Mr. Samuel Nti-Adarkwah presented a cheque of one thousand, five hundred Ghana Cedis (1500) to the overall best student whose GPA stood at 3.97.

Reverend Peter Reindorf Okyere of Mathematics and Science Department also assured the best three students that in the event that they could maintain their GPA, (so that they do not fall below 3.8) till they complete the College, he would give each of them four hundred (400) Ghana Cedis.

In another development, the former HOD of Mathematics/ICT Department, Mr. Opoku Agyemang awarded all members of his department some valuable items as his gesture. According to him, the efforts of the members of the department helped the students to raise their GPAs.
